First Impression
Kanger has recently come out with a whole bunch of new products, and so if you liked any of the other Kanger mods like the CUPTI or the TopBox, the chances are pretty good that you’ll like this version too. The KBOX is only narrowly wider than the two 18650 batteries it houses, and it looks almost small enough to be a single 18650 device. This stealthy little mod is perfect if you need something you aren’t afraid to bang up a little here and there. The Kanger KBox is tough and durable, but with the USA-made TI-Infineon stability chip, it offers some of the most advanced technology available today.
Kanger KBOX 200 TC MOD Starter Kit
The Kanger KBox comes with the mod, an authenticity card, stickers to cover your batteries, and a helpful instruction manual. You will have to come up with a tank and two 18650 batteries on your own. Since the mod is fairly small though, any tank above 22mm will have some overhang. You can, however, choose to purchase a starter kit if you want a more inclusive option. DirectVapor offers a Kanger KBOX 200 starter kit bundle including a mod in your choice of color as well as two LG HE4 35A batteries, a VaporFi two-bay battery charger, and your choice of tank. You can choose between the SMOK TFV4 Sub-Ohm Tank, the Crown Sub-Tank by Uwell, the SMOK TFV4 Mini Tank, and, last but not least, the Herakles Plus Tank by Sense. While you will pay quite a bit more for the convenience, if you want to get started vaping right away, this could be your ticket.

Kanger KBOX 200 Design & Features
The Kanger KBOX design is really rather simple, and if you’ve seen the other Kanger mods, you probably won’t be surprised. The battery door slips on and clicks into place with a series of grooves but without magnets. If the door seems a bit loose to you, then just squeeze the two flaps of the door together. There are plastic buttons on the side with the display, which is large and easy to see. Then there is the USB charging port, which doubles as a port for firmware upgrades, right below the two control buttons. However, as always, we advise vapers to charge their batteries separately in an external charger rather than charging them in the mod itself.
Performance
The Kanger KBOX produces very decent vapor and flavor in both power and temperature control mode. Unfortunately, we did find that the system tended to glitch when detecting the coil’s resistance. Usually, when you pop on a new coil, the mod will ask you whether it’s new or not and then calibrate the resistance accordingly. However, half the time the mod won’t ask you and then it will automatically default to the settings used with the last coil, and these settings are usually incompatible or at the very least unsuitable for the new ones. In that case, you’ll have to unscrew the atomizer and then screw it on again so that the Kanger KBOX will recognize it properly. This can get quite irritating on a daily basis, so we do have to admit it is a defect in the designing.

The Tank
The Kanger KBOX does not come with a tank as it is typically sold. However, you are welcome to pop on any tank with a diameter of up to 22mm and a coil in either nickel, titanium, kanthal, stainless steel, or nichrome.
Kanger KBOX 200 MOD Display & Menu
To turn on the Kanger KBOX, click the fire button five times successively. Three more clicks will get you into the setting mode from which you can change the mode and coil type. If you want to lock the settings into place so that they don’t shift while the mod is bouncing around in your pocket, then you can press all three buttons simultaneously and then again to unlock. The device will turn off again with five more clicks to the fire button. When you are in temperature control mode, the mod will start off at 200W and then increase or decrease the wattage automatically to adjust as you vape. While it claims to fire at 200W, we weren’t so sure how accurate this was.
Kanger KBOX 200 TC MOD Kit’s Price
The Kanger KBOX sells for only about $40 on DirectVapor, which is about ten dollars less than you’ll find it elsewhere. If you want the combination pack with all of your relevant accessories, then you’ll end up paying about $130, which is, again, fairly steep, but you are getting a tank, two batteries, and a charger. Plus, you are saving yourself some time by purchasing them all together.
Overall
Overall, the Kanger KBOX works well, vapes well, and costs, well, not too much. It is sleek and stealthy, especially in black, so that you can remain inconspicuous if you need to, and the mod is so small to begin with that you can hide it away in a pocket easily. We’re not entirely sure why Kanger is producing so many mods rather than focusing on a few and allowing vapers to regularly upgrade their firmware, but in any case, we at E-Cig Brands have been more than satisfied with the Kanger KBOX and would highly recommend it.
