The Kanger Toptank Mini is almost identical to the KangerTech Subtank Mini, but it is a top-filling device making refills a breeze. Top-filling tanks have become increasingly more popular in the past couple of years because they streamline the vaping process. While many top-filling tanks are leak-prone, the Kanger Toptank Mini has a massive O-ring around the inner edge of the top cap to prevent any spillage. Kanger Toptank Mini Starter Kit
The Kanger Toptank Mini starter kit comes with the device itself as well as a number of useful coils. Pre-installed in the tank is a 0.15Ω SSOCC Ni200 coil. You can tell it is a nickel coil based on the blue ring around the base of the coil. We’re not exactly sure why Kanger Tech would include a nickel coil in the tank itself because you can only use it on a device that offers temperature control mode. Since power mode is the standard mode of operation, it would probably make more sense to install a kanthal coil instead.
In any case, you’ll also receive a 0.5Ω SSOCC coil that functions at between 15W and 60W. Lastly, you’ll receive an RBA base with a pre-installed 0.5Ω coil plus an extra coil that you can install with the famous blue screwdriver, which is also included in the kit. The starter kit does not include an extra Pyrex glass tube, which we usually expect in any tank kit. It’s possible that they compensated with the RBA base. An extra glass tube would be useful though because in case the first one breaks, you can simply pop in the second one without having to purchase a whole new tank.

Kanger Toptank Mini Design & Features
The Kanger Toptank Mini is constructed from stainless steel and pyrex glass, so you know that it will be durable and reliable. The tank has a delrin drip tip that pops into the top. Since it is standard size, you can replace it with one of your own if you’d like. To refill the tank, simply unscrew the top cap and fill the tank through the holes on either side. Make sure not to fill up the tank through the middle because this is the chimney, which allows you to inhale vapor. Unscrew the base of the tank to access the atomizer, which easily screws in and out.
The tank can be fully disassembled for easy cleaning too. All you have to do is unscrew the top cap and the base with the atomizer. Then you can run each component under the faucet to wash away any grease or e-juice residue.
Performance
The tank performs wonderfully, and since it has adjustable airflow control, you can tailor the vape to suit your needs. If you want to direct-to-lungs vape, then leave the two airflow vents on either side of the tank open. Otherwise, close them off and have a mouth-to-lungs vape. If you want to have a mouth-to-lungs vape, you’ll want to decrease the wattage to something like 15-20W and use the 1.2Ω coils.
