JUUL E-Cigs are the fastest selling electronic cigarettes on the market today. They’ve exploded in popularity, and we wanted to know whether these new vapes were worth the hype. They’re chic, sleek, and oh so cool, but do they work, and better yet, do they work as well as promised?

First Impression

JUUL E-cigarettes come with a steep price tag, but users claim that they’re the best e-cigarette available. Practically the size of a USB stick, these vaporizers pack quite a punch even though they’re super lightweight. They make use of patented nicotine salt e-liquid, a special formula created by JUUL designed to mimic traditional cigarettes as closely as possible.

Essentially, JUUL is designed for the smoker who wants to quit, but hasn’t yet made the jump from smoking to vaping. The e-cigarette is the perfect stealth device, and while it may not help you overcome your nicotine addiction, it will help you finally drop cigarettes for good.

JULL Starter Kit Review

The JUUL starter kit includes the device, a USB charging cable, and four JUUL pods. The four pods come in their standard e-liquid flavors: Virginia Tobacco, Cool Mint, Creme Brulee, and Mango, though other flavors are available, and the entire kit has a one-year warranty. While the original device comes in gray, they do occasionally release limited edition devices in different colors like navy blue and gold.

JULL Design & Features

JUUL e-cigs are incredibly simple to use. All you have to do is pop a pod into the battery and you’re ready to go. The e-cigarette has a USB port that will link right up to your computer with a unique magnetic charging dock. Plug it in and charge while you work.

There are no controls, and the battery is automatic, so you just need to inhale. Simply double tap the top of the device to check the battery level. A green LED means the battery is fully charged, yellow means it’s half-charged, and red means that it’s about to die.

What Makes JUUL Unique?

There are two qualities in particular that make JUUL unique: the temperature-regulation technology and the nicotine salt e-liquid.

This e-cigarette has unique temperature-regulation technology usually only found in larger vaporizers and mods. This unique feature will prevent the device from overheating so that you’ll never have to worry about taking a dry hit even if you vape on pods that are nearly empty.

Secondly, and more importantly, the JUUL e-cigarette is a closed-system that only operates on patented JUULsalt e-liquids. These e-liquids use nicotine salts rather than freebase nicotine. Nicotine is found naturally in the crystallized salt form in the tobacco plant, but most e-cigarettes make use of freebase nicotine, a purified extract that is more stable and bioavailable.

Even though the body absorbs freebase nicotine more quickly, the substance delivers a very powerful throat hit. E-liquid with a concentration of nicotine higher than 36mg/ml is simply too intense for most vapers even though the nicotine in regular cigarettes is far higher. Nicotine salts are preferable because they’re far easier on the throat.

JUUL e-liquids deliver nicotine at the same rate as standard cigarettes, but the vapor is much smoother. Plus, mixed with benzoic acid, they absorb at a similar rate. So, even with 50mg/ml of nicotine, you won’t suffer from the heat of the vapor. Not only can you get more nicotine per hit, but you won’t need to be puffing on your e-cigarette all day long. With fewer draws, you’ll save money on e-juice and overcome your addiction more quickly.

Performance

Even though each draw on the JUUL e-cigarette is incredibly smooth, you have to be careful. It delivers a lot of nicotine in each puff, and if you’re not careful you might end up feeling a bit buzzed and nauseous. You won’t want to take more than three or four draws at a time.

While the JUUL is no box mod, it far surpasses any other vape pen or cigarette. I’ve ever tried. It lasts for days, and the vapor is phenomenal. I was pretty skeptical going in considering the price, but it exceeds my expectations. Best of all, the flavors are clean and delicious. The tobacco tastes just like real tobacco and the overall experience is far more authentic than any other cig-a-like I’ve seen so far.

JULL Price

The standard JUUL starter pack costs $49.99, and a pack of pods costs $15.99. Each pod is roughly the equivalent of one pack of cigarettes, so if you’re a chain smoker, it will only last you a day or two. That means that each pack costs roughly $4. However, if you opt for JUUL’s auto-ship program, you’ll get four pods for only $13.59.

If you’re switching from cigarettes, you’ll still save yourself about 1000 bucks a year. That being said, JUUL’s e-cigarettes are far more expensive than standard e-cigs especially because it’s a closed vaping system. You cannot refill used pods, and the pods are only available from JUUL. So, while you can find e-cigarettes for far cheaper elsewhere, if you want the premium JUUL experience, know that they’re still cheaper than cigarettes.

Final Verdict

I loved the JUUL e-cig. It does exactly what it claims to do, and it surpasses all other electronic cigarettes on the market. If you’ve tried vaping before but found it unsatisfactory, than JUUL just might be for you. While it is undoubtedly expensive, if you have the extra cash to spend, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
